こんにちは！！まよです！！２ヶ月ぶりの更新になってしまいました。
日本はもう暖かいと聞きました。日本の地元では梅の花が咲き乱れているようで、お花見を恋しく思う毎日です。
が、残念ながら、こちらの春はまだまだ先のようです。

先日のエマの更新ではへべれけマヨ＆スージーのお恥ずかしい様子が世界中に広まってしまったので、名誉挽回のためにもお仕事のお話を！！

さて、世間はファッションウィークのまっただ中！
ロンドンもロンドンファッションウィーク、ロンドンファッションウィークエンドで大盛り上がりです。

アレックスモンローもつい最近仕上がったばかりのできたてほやほや２００９年秋冬最新コレクションを中心に数々の作品と共に参加してきました！

場所はロンドンのサウスケンジントンにある自然史博物館の。。。

特設テントが建てられ、その中で行われます。

この博物館は私のとってもお気に入りスポットです。
外観もすごく素敵。展示もとても興味深しです！ぜひ機会があったら！！
世界中の動物、世界中の鳥、恐竜にも会えます。

さて、話をファッションウィークに戻します。

テントの中では、沢山のデザイナー達が世界中から訪れるバイヤーの方や、プレスの方に向けて
新しいコレクションを展示していたり。。。

ファションショーやトークショーが行われたり。。。

では、本題に入って、アレックスモンローの新作のお話です。

今回の新作は、２つ。

まずは、ドーン！！

クローバー、蝶、馬の蹄など、世界中のラッキーアイテムをモチーフにしている（Roll me over）in the clover

クローバーは日本でも有名なラッキーアイテムですね。

ビジネスや人生など色々なことがすべてうまく進んでいるときに言う、in the clover　という古い英語があります。
自分がクローバーの中にいたらすべて順調にラッキーに進むということなのですね☆

それから、牧場では、家畜が食べる牧草地の中にクローバーが生えていたら、その動物達は健康に育ち、おいしいミルクがとれると言われているそうですよ。

そして。。。カッコの中のRoll me overを付け加えると。。。
これも古い言葉のようですが。。。
つまり。。。

クローバー畑で私のこと押し倒してイチャイチャしちゃって！

という意味です。

かわいい顔してあの子割とやるもんだねと。的な感覚ですね。
このタイトルの英語の古い曲がありますが、とてもかわいらしい曲でした。

コレクションももちろんとてもかわいらしいです。

それから、もう一つのコレクションはTumble leaf

こちらはとても秋らしい、大人っぽいコレクションです。

様々な種類の葉っぱ達の繊細なコレクションです。

シルバーとゴールドの葉達ですが、私は赤や黄色のきれいな日本の紅葉の風景を思い出しました。

新しいコレクションはこれからどんどん展開されていくので楽しみにしていてください！！

次の日、ファッションウィーク中に日本からきていただいた、アシュペーフランスのバイヤーの方を招いて、アレックス家でプチディナーパーティーがありました。
なんとその日はイギリスの古い記念日である、パンケーキデー！！

キリスト教の伝統的な日のようで、レントと呼ばれるイースターまでの期間、断食やざんげを行う４０日間の前日にパンケーキをまとめ食いしようという日みたいです。
今は断食を行う人はほとんどいないようで、パンケーキはちゃっかり食べているのみたいなので、なんともキリスト様もきっと複雑な気持ちでしょうね。

パンケーキと聞いてホットケーキのようなものを想像していましたが、もっとぺらぺらでクレープのような感じでした。

お砂糖をふりかけて、レモンを絞っていただくのがこちら流のよう。

それでは最後の私たちのピュイーンなフライングパンケーキの様子でお別れを。

Well, after our lovely posh lunch last Friday, myself and the girls decided to hit the town for some Cocktails…..
We went to The Lab in Soho, my favourite bar in London, where we had a few ‘Pornstar Martini’s’….

It might be a bit of an embarrassing name, but they taste like Solero ice creams, and come with a baby glass of Champagne too…..SO gorgeous! 

Today I’m off down to Brighton, for our Trunk Show at Silverado….(4-8pm if you fancy popping in!). It will mark the launch of our new collections, and there will also be some very special pieces available only at Silverado for the rest of February.

We’ve just heard from the lovely Rebecca, who has a FANTASTIC blog called: weebirdy.com She writes about her favourite things in London, and as you might have guessed from the name, like us, she also loves all things ‘Birdy’!

Snow. Today London ground to a standstill! We woke up to a foot of snow, no buses and no cars. Some of the girls did make it in to work, but I wimped out and made a snowman instead!

The poor girls. We were soooo incredibly busy on the run up to Christmas that we didn’t have enough time for a proper Christmas party. And January was even busier! We have all our big Japanese deliveries for Spring Summer 2009 to deliver, and a huge new order from Net-a-porter (check out the fab. new bee with black stripes here! , should go live soon!)

And we’ve been frantically getting ready for our new space in Liberty, opening on the 14^th Feb. It’s going to be great!

And….. (too many ‘ands’ I know) we made our first delivery to Harrods! We’re really excited about it. They have a great jewellery department and we made them a fantastic selection of pieces so it’s worth a look if you can get in to see it. We were so pleased!

Anyway, enough about all the work stuff. We really needed a treat so we decided on lunch at the scrumptiously posh Roussillon in Pimlico. I don’t know how many courses later and with enough wine to…, well, plenty of wine, the girls went on for a cocktail or two while I pottered on home (old boy can’t keep up).

We’re really hoping to get somewhere in the Elle style awards , check ‘em out here (could win prizes!) , well it’s particularly the girls who are keeping their fingers crossed, I reckon it’s the red carpet they’re after….. well, they do deserve it.

Oh, and let’s not forget the big ‘V’ day. Feb 14th as usual. The web-site has been getting really busy. But don’t forget if you (or the boyfriend!) leave it too late we might not be able to make it in time. Susie has made a lovely selection of gift ideas.

And Emma will be in Brighton on 6th Feb from 4 ’till 8, with a lovely exclusive selection of romantic pieces we made specially. It’s at Silverado, our brilliant stockist on Bond street, so if you’re down south, pop in for a chat and get yourself a one-off piece! All the exclusive pieces will stay there for the whole of February.
