Alex drawing at Kew Gardens
Lucky me! I have a lovely design project on with Kew Gardens west London. Today was a beautiful sunny day, so I packed up my sketch books and headed for Kew. It was amazing! Outside was covered with flowering bulbs, inside the Palm house it was hot and damp and smelt of the rain-forest. And best yet, I was there for the Tropical Extravaganza! (ends 8th March) Thousands of flowering orchids and tropical flower. Actually, it was a bit overwhelming, so I retired to the tea shop for a cuppa.

Excellent pictures from Kew Gardens. You are fortunate living not that far away and being able to see plants and flowers nurtured to the very peak of pefection. It was also good to see someone who had control over the camera, rather than the other way round. The focusing on the carpet of bulbs was particularly effective.
Hope the design project translate into more damn fine jewellery pieces.

Thanks! And would you believe I got those lovely pics on my camera! (mostly luck I reckon) Will post photos of the finished designs in a few weeks I hope.
Best,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I love your work! Please come to the Natural History Museum too, which houses the world biodiversity. How about mosses, micro pond creatures and root vegetables, which seem not to be paid much attention to their beauty.
There is a temple in Kyoto (Japan), which celebrates and takes care of “V.I.P.mosses”.
