Charming New Collection!

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Have we got a treat for you this Friday afternoon! First up is a new archive charm collection just posted on the website. For this, we’ve brought together a collection of our favourite charms from past and present, and crafted them in a beautiful solid 18ct yellow gold.

There are so many to pick from. You can opt for a loose charm if you want to add it to your own chain, or alternatively choose a matching solid 18ct yellow gold bracelet or necklace to wear it on. Plus, if you’re finding it hard to decide, Ulrikke has created her perfect charm bracelet to act as inspiration.

That’s not all though! Susie L has been feverishly working through the heat today to put up some new Trunkshow pieces. Don’t dawdle though, because these new fruity wonders are sure to get snapped up quickly!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Awards fever!

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Forgot to say, we’ve been shortlisted for UK Jewellery Designer of the Year again, and Web-site of the Year. Don’t get too excited, we were shortlisted for Fashion Exporter of the year again but didn’t win it. We did get a fab lunch with Joanna Lumley and Princess Anne and very nice they were too. These awards announced in July….. we’ll let you know (only if we win!!!)

So much to write about……

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

I’ve so much to write about I don’t know where to start! We went to the Cricket, Connie cooked at Moro(!), I had a great trip to Japan, I picked up my new bike (fantastic!!!), a great meeting to design our new look, Tasha’s 21st birthday party, loads of great cycle training, and funny story from April’s sister.

Anyway, what shall I do right now….. First the cutest…. my gorgeous middle daughter really likes cooking and wants to be a chef, so I asked my mate Sam at London’s BEST restaurant Moro if he would show her round the kitchens. Dear old Sam was fantastic. Connie and I went in at 12 on a mid-week lunchtime and she was whisked away. When I returned she was hard at work, dressing salads and making flatbread! We had a delicious lunch and Connie was allowed to join us, we ate the bread she’d made. We love Moro, and big thanks to Sam.

What next… Oh yes, very funny. April’s sister was reading a racy novel on the tube the other day. She photocopied it for me… take a look for yourselves. I think I can retire now!

Hey! How brilliant is that?

More soon,

Alex

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Recently Alex treated Susie and myself with a trip to the Chelsea Flower Show.

One of the many inspiring show gardens

We’re all very keen gardeners, so it was amazing to be there and experience all the gardens and flower displays after watching the coverage on television.

All of the gardens were impressive, but our favourite by far was the M&G show garden.

We loved the summer house and perfect pond

As we walked around, we all enjoyed a glass of Pimms. Whilst in the pavilion, Susie saved me from a fall into the roses at the David Austin stand. These are my favorite roses and I was just leaning over to smell them when I lost my balance. It had nothing to do with the Pimms!

Have a look here at David’s beautiful roses www.davidaustinroses.com

This was one of the most popular stands. I just wish that fruit in the supermarket was displayed in this way.

Everyone seemed to love this stand

We really enjoyed ourselves and had a great day.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could do our own Alex Monroe garden one day?!

Another Busy Week!

Friday, June 11th, 2010

As our studio is a bit out of the way, we love it when we have shopping events and get the chance to meet our lovely customers.  So thank you to everyone who came along to our pop-up shop at Penhaligon’s on Tuesday, we all had a great day!

We had lots of great support from like-minded companies which really made the day complete.  We of course love Penhaligon’s who kindly let us use their consultation room for the shop, and by the end of the day we were all smelling beautiful and fully converted from wearing ‘designer’ fragrances.

We really wanted to create an ideal shopping experience, and Matt and Marc from Planet of the Grapes gave us some lovely fizz for everyone to sip as they browsed. We also gave a goodie bag with every purchase, which contained some little treats for the way home – Burt’s Chips and Frü Puds.

There seems to be quite a bit of excitement about our new ‘Peacock & the Crow’ collection, so don’t worry if you couldn’t make it along, as it will be uploaded onto the site in the next couple of weeks – keep your eyes peeled! But in the mean time, here are some images from the day:

Yesterday we took it in turns to whizz off to Little 15 in Cullum Street to help out Jutta with her launch of the collection, but it was too busy to take any pics!

Susie is going to be up bright and early tomorrow to visit Silverado’s new Lewes shop for a Trunk Show – lots of lovely one-offs as usual, and Silverado will also have the ‘Peacock & the Crow’ in stock.  We will be back down at their Brighton store on Saturday the 10th of July.

We are looking forward to Alex’s return from Japan to hear all about what he’s been up to, but in the mean time, look who we’ve spotted wearing AM recently!

We were really pleased when Silverado told us about their new shop in Lewes – they’ve been trying to buy a property there for ages, but it looks well worth the wait!

Look at the lovely collection of hand mirrors on the wall!

So…..Susie will be heading down on Saturday the 12th of June for a Trunk Show!  As usual there will be lots of one-offs, plus a raffle prize, and yes, they will have a delivery of ‘Peacock and the Crow’ too!

On Saturday the 10th of July we will be back down in Sussex to visit Silverado’s Brighton store with a Trunk Show – lots of dates for your diaries!

So there is a LOT of jewellery being made at the moment, lots of parcels to pack, emails to answer…..I need a lie down just thinking about it!

But it’s all going to be lots of fun so come and say hello!
