Alex Monroe at the Chosen Wedding Fair

Friday, April 19th, 2013

After the success of our ‘Tie the Knot’ Wedding week, we thought we’d continue celebrating all things wedding!
So on Sunday 5th May we’ll be exhibiting at Chosen Wedding Fair in the beautiful setting of Chelsea Old Town Hall on Kings Road.

Chosen Wedding fair offers a selection of hand-picked designers, offering bespoke and unique options to inspire you for your perfect wedding. It has been organized by bride-to-be and Alex Monroe fan, Kiki Sunshine. Kiki struggled to find exactly what she was looking for when arranging her big day, so to help other brides looking for more unique and individual nuptials like herself she gathered together an array of designers in a wedding fair with a difference! Chelsea Old Town Hall will be transformed, filled with designers, live musical entertainment, DIY  wedding accessories, hair and make up and Marshmallow Apothecary…we’re not sure what this is, but we know that we can’t wait! Yum! We’re very excited to be part of an event that celebrates hand made and unique pieces, perfect for your special day!

We’ll be showcasing not only our 18ct Goldcrest collection of Engagement and Wedding rings, but our brand new cufflink collection and a selection of pieces we think would be perfect for any bride or bridesmaid to wear on the big day.

We look forward to seeing you there!

‘Tie the Knot’ Wedding Week

Thursday, April 11th, 2013

We’ve been celebrating all things wedding here at Alex Monroe this week and welcoming some beautiful new 18ct pieces to our Goldcrest Fine Jewellery range. We’ve had the pleasure of showing many brides-to-be our solid 18ct gold rings,  and our Bespoke Manager, Susie Lee has been booked up with happy couples popping in to see her at the London Bridge Boutique to discuss their own unique engagement and wedding rings.

If you’re considering commissioning a bespoke piece from Alex Monroe, Susie will also be in the Boutique on Saturday 13th March, available from 11am-5pm. Feel free to drop in for a free consultation to discuss your very own Bespoke pieces! If you can’t make it to the Boutique this week, then you can always contact Susie at anytime to book an appointment.

Below are some of the new pieces that are available exclusively in our Boutique.

Unity Thread Ring in 18ct yellow gold

Unity Thread Ring, part of our new collection of solid 18ct rings.

Seruni diamond ring and matching Seruni wedding band in 18ct yellow gold.

This is our Seruni Ring and matching Seruni band. It was inspired by our Chrysanthemum collection and is set with a 3.8mm diamond. We think it would be a stunning alternative to a traditional engagement ring and wedding band!

Heritage Rings in 18ct Yellow gold, rose gold and white gold

Also new in the Boutique this week we have one of our favorite rings from the Heritage Collection, now in solid rose gold and white gold. Can’t help but think these 3 would look gorgeous stacked together!

Mr & Mrs Cannon sent us these lovely wedding photos, featuring a number of Alex Monroe pieces
Finally, congratulations to the happy couple Mr & Mrs Cannon, who sent us these beautiful photos of their big day. Their wedding was full of beautiful Alex Monroe jewellery, from Melanie’s stunning engagement ring, right down to her 18ct dragonfly necklace. A lovely surprise to receive at the beginning of our wedding week!

We always love to receive photos from our customers sharing their special day with us…so please keep them coming!

Alex Monroe as seen from The Shard

Friday, February 1st, 2013

As Western Europe’s tallest building officially opens to the public today we wanted to share the (rather grey) view from up there with you.
Tom and I were very lucky to be given two exclusive preview tickets to visit the View From The Shard back on 11th January.

Tom and Jutta with their preview tickets to The Shard

big smiles!

It was a very grey and overcast January day, but we were nevertheless both ultra-excited to be amongst the first visitors onto the two viewing platforms located on floors 69 and 72 which by the way is partially open and exposed to the elements with sounds of the city around you.

It was chilly up there!!!

Our Head Quarters and Boutique is just a stone’s throw from The Shard and of course first thing as we got to the top, was to locate our beautiful building and wave to our colleague’s who were down below working away as we had fun.
Ha ha ha !!!

Can you spot the Alex Monroe Building on Snowsfields?

I know everybody is moaning about the steep entry fee for The View From The Shard, but we can really wholeheartedly recommend the experience.
Why not make it a whole day out in the London Bridge area and visit the Alex Monroe Boutique, then have lunch on Bermondsey Street or Borough Market followed by a stroll down the river to Tower Bridge or all the way to Tate Modern?

Tower Bridge - told you it was a grey day.

We’ll certainly be going back up there. Perhaps on a nice clear Summer’s evening next…

‘Dream Of Me’ launches during VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

On Thursday 6th September London celebrated Fashion’s Night Out, an annual shopping event hosted by VOGUE, with an abundance of fashion retailers taking part all around town and Alex Monroe joined in with the fashionable fun in our Bermondsey Boutique.

We hosted a little launch party for our brand new collection entitled ‘Dream of Me’ with bubbly refreshments and a very, very special Bee print canvas shopper goodie bag for every purchase on the night.

Happy Customers with our Bee Goodie Bag

The team and Alex himself were to hand to chat about his work, passions and of course the new shop and his new Headquarters in London SE1.

Our petite boutique was packed with curious shoppers throughout the evening trying on the new pieces as well as viewing our whole back catalogue of beautiful classic collections.

Fun, laughter, fizz & jewellery - Happy Days!

PS: For those of you who sadly couldn’t make it to the event in London, we would like to ask for a little more patience with the launch of
‘Dream Of Me’
on our website. Sadly our photographer, online shop manager and all round tech guru Tom, has had a cycling accident which has left him with only one usable arm/hand for a while. We are hoping for an online launch at the end of September now.
