How would you describe your shop?
Eclectic, elegant, easy-going.

What makes you so special?
We stock so many wonderful jewellery designers, from all over the world that are often only to be found in our shops in the whole of Ireland.

Are you easy to find?
Just find Main Street in Kinsale or Schull and you will find us! Not too difficult in small Irish villages!

What’s the best thing about your location?
Sunny side of the street. Can’t beat that!

Where is the best place for a coffee nearby?
Kinsale: Cucina (turn left, next right)

Schull: Newmans West (there is only one street in Schull, they are to the left down the hill)

They both offer delicious soya cappuccinos for anyone who avoids dairy like myself.

Any other must see things in the area?
Apart from the most wonderful Irish landscape and coastline, famous golf courses and great home-grown food…Hackett’s Bar in Schull and Dave’s Ghost Tour in Kinsale.

About the jewellery

What do you like/hate about Alex Monroe jewellery?
We love how wonderfully intricate all the pieces are. They all have a story to tell.

Do you have a favourite piece?
Definitely the bicycle, not sure why as I never cycle.

Are there any particular members of staff who know the collection best?
That would be me, Sabine

Any tips for customers?
The gold plate DOES last. Recently saw a piece on a customer that she wears every day for a year and it still looks perfect gold, even the chain. Well done at AM!

Any cute stories about the jewellery from customers?
I had a lovely American gentleman buying the Two Birds on a Branch for his wife as she collects love birds. How cute!

My best friend is doing a PHD on bees! Her family bought her the bee the first week she was starting, she has worn it everyday for the past 2 yrs, she wants to wear it until the very end of the PHD, it’s like her mascot!

What are your best sellers?
Birds and Bees.

Any tips for a bloke buying jewellery as a gift?
Check if she has her ears pierced before buying!
