How would you describe your shop?
A relaxed and friendly jewellery shop with something for everyone.

What makes you so special?
Everyone who works here, their passion for jewellery and their attention to detail.

Are you easy to find?
Yes, we are on the first street of the North Laine in Brighton, and in the most famous street in York, the Shambles.

What’s the best thing about your location?
All three of our locations are great because they are surrounded by lovely independent shops, just like ours.

Where is the best place for a coffee nearby?
Skip the coffee and go for an ice cream instead at Boho Gelato at Poole Valley – they do coffee flavor, but my favourite is probably lemon cream biscuit – delicious!

Any other must see things in the area?
LOADS! The beach for a start, the lanes, loads of great restaurants and shops.

About the jewellery

What do you like/hate about Alex Monroe jewellery?
I love how it is so easily recognizable as being Alex’s design and I love the mix of classic and quirky. It is so well made and gets better with age – I have had my bumblebee for over 4 years and have never had it replated and it still looks great.

Do you have a favourite piece?
In the summer I love my Classic Gold Bumblebee, but my favourite piece is probably the Gold Feather Necklace.

Are there any particular members of staff who know the collection best?
All of us own and love lots of Alex’s pieces, so it is hard to say, but Beth or Emi could definitely talk you through Alex’s whole catalogue!

What are your best sellers?
The bumblebees of any size and colour and the classic feathers.
