Our very first ‘An Evening with Alex Monroe’ has been and gone and we think it went rather well! Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope it surpassed your expectations. For all those that missed out on our May dates I can announce two more dates , 13th June and 18th July. The event will be held at our RIBA award nominated building (*blushes*), 37 Snowsfields, a short walk from The Shard and London Bridge station, from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Alex will be giving a small informal talk, a short jewellery demonstration and a general Q&A.

Suzy A & Emily take a trip to the new Fine Jewellery room at Fortnum & Mason

Suzy A and our newest member of the AM team Emily, headed to the brand new, luxurious fine jewellery room at Fortnum & Mason to check on our display! And as you can see from the pictures below it’s looking delightful!

It was also a chance to check out the special pieces we made for Fortnum & Mason to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation in June….

There are two pieces in this little set, available exclusively at F&M:

A necklace of a little chirping bird wearing a crown, with a diamond hanging from the branch, in gold-plate and silver mix. This piece is £180

The second piece is a charm bracelet, also featuring crowned birds, with a teapot and three hanging diamonds. This is £255

We think they are really special, and we hope you agree!

Sample sale at Pullens Yard Open Studios

Wow, where has the year gone? The Pullens Yard open studios Summer event is just around the corner! From the 7th – 9th June you will be able to browse (and buy from) artists studios including our very own!It’s the perfect opportunity to stock pile those important future birthday and Christmas gifts (yes, Christmas is also just around the corner!). Our sample sale* will take place across the 3 days, and we do expect queues (orderly of course).

We are located at 9A Illife Yard. Opening times are Friday 7th June 6pm-9pm, Saturday 8th June 11am – 6pm and Sunday 9th June 11am – 6pm. Cash and card (no Amex) will be accepted but it maybe a good idea visit a cash machine beforehand to avoid the queues!

It’s been a while since Alex has blogged so we’ve decided to share his picture diary from the past few days!

Alex was in a DIY mood and decided to put up our lovely new custom made wall cabinets!

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our lovely Spanish cabinet however we do think these are just as lovely! What do you think?

After all that DIY’ing Alex and Denise headed to Planet of the Grapes for a wine tasting evening. Planet of the Grapes is a lovely bar /restaurant run by Katie’s (who helps with dispatch) husband, Matt. Great wine accompanied by great food that left Alex very merry indeed.

An evening with Alex

After the success of Alex’s visit to Liberty earlier on in the month to celebrate his 25th Anniversary, we’ve decided to open our HQ doors for an evening (well two) with Alex. Our first event will take place on the 9th May from 6pm-8pm and a second evening on the 23rd May from 6pm-8pm. The evening will consist of an informal talk, a short jewellery demonstration as well as a little fizz and a chance to browse the boutique. So if you’re a budding jewellery designer, student or have any burning questions for Alex this is the perfect opportunity for you to ask away!

Spaces are very limited and at £25 per ticket we do not expect them to be around very long! They are available to buy online or you can call Jutta our boutique manageress on 020 3117 0640.

Oh and how could we forget! The £25 you spend on the ticket is then redeemable in store on the evening of the event!

Alex Monroe at the Chosen Wedding Fair

After the success of our ‘Tie the Knot’ Wedding week, we thought we’d continue celebrating all things wedding!
So on Sunday 5th May we’ll be exhibiting at Chosen Wedding Fair in the beautiful setting of Chelsea Old Town Hall on Kings Road.

Chosen Wedding fair offers a selection of hand-picked designers, offering bespoke and unique options to inspire you for your perfect wedding. It has been organized by bride-to-be and Alex Monroe fan, Kiki Sunshine. Kiki struggled to find exactly what she was looking for when arranging her big day, so to help other brides looking for more unique and individual nuptials like herself she gathered together an array of designers in a wedding fair with a difference! Chelsea Old Town Hall will be transformed, filled with designers, live musical entertainment, DIY wedding accessories, hair and make up and Marshmallow Apothecary…we’re not sure what this is, but we know that we can’t wait! Yum! We’re very excited to be part of an event that celebrates hand made and unique pieces, perfect for your special day!

We’ll be showcasing not only our 18ct Goldcrest collection of Engagement and Wedding rings, but our brand new cufflink collection and a selection of pieces we think would be perfect for any bride or bridesmaid to wear on the big day.

RIBA London Awards 2013 – We’ve made the shortlist!

Much to our delight, our HQ/Boutique located at 37 Snowsfields has been shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize for Best Building of the Year 2013! We have our fingers firmly crossed here at Snowsfields! The winner will be announced on the 26th September.

Get Stoned: Liberty helps Alex celebrate his 25th Anniversary

Alex will be at Liberty this Wednesday (17th April) to celebrate his 25th anniversary! Yes, you read correctly, 25 years! To celebrate reaching such a momentous milestone Alex will be giving an informal talk and will be showing off his skills with jewellery demonstration throughout the evening. ‘Tie the Knot’ Wedding Week

We’ve been celebrating all things wedding here at Alex Monroe this week and welcoming some beautiful new 18ct pieces to our Goldcrest Fine Jewellery range. We’ve had the pleasure of showing many brides-to-be our solid 18ct gold rings, and our Bespoke Manager, Susie Lee has been booked up with happy couples popping in to see her at the London Bridge Boutique to discuss their own unique engagement and wedding rings.

If you’re considering commissioning a bespoke piece from Alex Monroe, Susie will also be in the Boutique on Saturday 13th March, available from 11am-5pm. Feel free to drop in for a free consultation to discuss your very own Bespoke pieces! If you can’t make it to the Boutique this week, then you can always contact Susie at anytime to book an appointment.

Unity Thread Ring, part of our new collection of solid 18ct rings.

This is our Seruni Ring and matching Seruni band. It was inspired by our Chrysanthemum collection and is set with a 3.8mm diamond. We think it would be a stunning alternative to a traditional engagement ring and wedding band!

Also new in the Boutique this week we have one of our favorite rings from the Heritage Collection, now in solid rose gold and white gold. Can’t help but think these 3 would look gorgeous stacked together!

Finally, congratulations to the happy couple Mr & Mrs Cannon, who sent us these beautiful photos of their big day. Their wedding was full of beautiful Alex Monroe jewellery, from Melanie’s stunning engagement ring, right down to her 18ct dragonfly necklace. A lovely surprise to receive at the beginning of our wedding week!
