We’ve got big news that we’re all really excited about here at Alex Monroe HQ.

Liberty are the first brick and mortar shop to sell the Goldcrest pieces, which have previously been available only by appointment at our studio and online at the Alex Monroe website. The pieces maintain Alex’s signature style, with the added touch of luxury you get from 18ct Gold, and brilliant colour, thanks to the stunning stones used in each piece.

The Forest Jewels are dominated by beautiful trillion checkerboard cut stones, set in delicate twig rings.

Whilst the stunning Eyebright Rings look great worn individually, and really make an impression when a few are stacked together, mixing the colourful stones for added effect.

Finally, and perhaps most excitingly, there’s the new 18ct Gold Baby Bumblebee Necklace. The addition of the pink sapphire stone shown in the photo, adds a colourful highlight to this Alex Monroe classic, reworked in amazing 18ct Gold. And if the pink sapphire isn’t for you, there are a selection of other coloured stones available. You really need to see this to understand just how beautiful it is!

Newly added to the website is Alex’s Forest Jewel Ring Collection.

Taking inspiration from sunlight and shadows in the forest, are these delicate twig rings, with amazing 12mm trillion checkerboard cut stones. The Prasiolite ring comes in solid 18ct white gold, whilst the others come in a solid 18ct yellow gold.

These are great to wear individually, but look even better when worn stacked up together.

You can find them under the Alex Monroe Goldcrest section, called Forest Jewels.

That’s enough jewellery for now, because we can’t forget that Alex is currently cycling 1000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats for charity! Go have a look at the website, catch up with him on his blog, and consider making a donation to a great cause… you can even bid on his gorgeous 18ct bicycle necklaces!

Have a great weekend everyone!

April & Susie’s Field Trip

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Last Friday April and I spent the day in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham.  First we visited Dave at Krypton who helps us with producing our jewellery.  Dave knows everything there is to know about jewellery so it was fantastic being able to pick his brains for a few hours.

Super Dave!
Super Dave!

Dave has been working with Rakhi and Alex to design our new range of 18ct Eyebright Rings… which are lush,  just check out these colours!

This is what I call a true fairytale collection!  Made in solid 18ct yellow gold, these rings make the perfect cocktail piece.  Talking of gold…

…The next stop on our grand tour of Birmingham was to see Dean & Mark.  Dean and Mark are our wonderful gold-platers!  The gorgeous ‘Alex Monroe’ 22ct colour you all know and love is down to their hard work.  Here’s our very own specially built gold-plating tank -

You can’t really tell from this picture, but the tank is actually huge – and it’s specially for us :)   Gold-plating is a precise science so it’s quite an honour to have a tank devoted just for your work.

My favourite member of the D&M team has to be Monty, I think he contributes a lot to company moral!… I wonder if we can have a workshop dog?!
