Can you believe it’s been over a month since the terrible Earthquake in Japan? So much has happened since then and yet I am still overwhelmed by the courage and bravery shown by everyone in Japan… Four weeks ago we made a promise to donate £5 to the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal for every item bought from our web-site in the coming month. Well, since then we have raised a massive £2275.00 ! So I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to all the customers who’ve supported our efforts by shopping on our web-site. This would not have been possible with out all you lovely people!
Alex has also been working on a special fundraising exhibition to help support the relief efforts in Japan. He was asked to create something really special to be auctioned in Japan through H. P. France. You can see the auction site here, but it’s all in Japanese so it may not make any sense to you, it doesn’t to me, but luckily I have Mayo to translate!
Made in super quick time, we managed to ship this special necklace just a few days ago, so it should be arriving in Japan any minute now…

Fritillary
Check out the amazing details and texture on the petals of the Fritillary flower. Although you may not expect it (Alex is usually found at his bench making near invisible tiny insects or whisps of delicate feather), this piece is actually one of the largest pendants Alex has made – and we LOVE it !
All of AMHQ have been coveting this piece, so let us know what you think…
To top it all, a few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be approached by Action Against Hunger – an amazing international humanitarian organisation who are committed to ending child hunger. Recognised as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, Action Against Hunger saves the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. A. A. H. asked us if we would like to be involved with their charity auction and dinner held at The Boisdale of Canary Wharf, which is a super posh Whiskey, Cigar and Jazz Club, check out the pics -

What a lot of whisky!

a touch of old-school glamour
We thought our Fruit Cocktail Ring would be perfect for the event, and it certainly seemed very popular, going at auction for £500 !

Fruit Cocktail Ring
On the night, a total of £46,000 was raised. WOW. This money will be used to support projects in over 40 countries worldwide and also enables Action Against Hunger to respond to emergencies such as the ongoing crisis on the Ivory Coast. I’d also like to say thanks to the team at A. A. H. UK, especially Pauline! We’d never have been organised in time with out your help!
Phew! It’s been a busy month, but full of loads of exciting projects – working with these amazing organisations and individuals who do so much to help other people is the most inspiring thing and we’re lucky to be able to do it
Have a super weekend eveyone!

We have many friends, fans and customers in Japan. Our thoughts go out to you all, and we hope for the safety of everyone’s families and friends.
The recent, terrible tragedy in Japan has caused widespread damage and left many thousands homeless. Aid and rescue teams have been working on the ground since the disaster began, and there are a number of ways you can make donations to help the relief effort.
For every item sold through our website over the next 4 weeks, we will donate £5 to the Japanese Red Cross ‘Japan Tsunami Appeal’.
You can find out more information about the appeal by visiting the Red Cross website, where you can also make a personal donation via the website or download a postal donation form. You can also donate to them over the phone by calling 08450 53 53 53.

As our studio is a bit out of the way, we love it when we have shopping events and get the chance to meet our lovely customers. So thank you to everyone who came along to our pop-up shop at Penhaligon’s on Tuesday, we all had a great day!
We had lots of great support from like-minded companies which really made the day complete. We of course love Penhaligon’s who kindly let us use their consultation room for the shop, and by the end of the day we were all smelling beautiful and fully converted from wearing ‘designer’ fragrances.

41 Wellington Street, Covent Garden
We really wanted to create an ideal shopping experience, and Matt and Marc from Planet of the Grapes gave us some lovely fizz for everyone to sip as they browsed. We also gave a goodie bag with every purchase, which contained some little treats for the way home – Burt’s Chips and Frü Puds.

Goodie Bags!
There seems to be quite a bit of excitement about our new ‘Peacock & the Crow’ collection, so don’t worry if you couldn’t make it along, as it will be uploaded onto the site in the next couple of weeks – keep your eyes peeled! But in the mean time, here are some images from the day:

Peacock & the Crow display, complete with Black & Gold Birdcages!

A goblet of Earrings.

The setting of Penhaligon's really created an atmosphere for the Jewellery.

Classic Alex Monroe pieces.
Yesterday we took it in turns to whizz off to Little 15 in Cullum Street to help out Jutta with her launch of the collection, but it was too busy to take any pics!
Susie is going to be up bright and early tomorrow to visit Silverado’s new Lewes shop for a Trunk Show – lots of lovely one-offs as usual, and Silverado will also have the ‘Peacock & the Crow’ in stock. We will be back down at their Brighton store on Saturday the 10th of July.
We are looking forward to Alex’s return from Japan to hear all about what he’s been up to, but in the mean time, look who we’ve spotted wearing AM recently!

New X-Factor presenter Konnie Huq wears a Dragonfly Necklace.

And we think Kimberley Walsh looks great in our Peacock Feather Earrings.
Have a great weekend everyone! Emma x

Wow – we are soooo busy at the moment…..!
Alex is off to Japan on Sunday, so we have all been helping him prepare for his trip. He will be visiting clients and doing Trunk Shows in HP Bijoux in Shinjuku, Goldie in Shibuya, and Goldie in Osaka – very exciting for our customers all the way in Japan!
But back here in London……
Tuesday the 8th of June marks our very special launch of ‘The Peacock and the Crow’ collection, as part of London Jewellery Week.

Tuesday 8th June - 'Peacock & the Crow' Pop-Up Shop!
We are having a one day pop-up shop in the lovely Covent Garden Penhaligon’s store, 41 Wellington Street.

Join us there from 11am -7pm for your first chance to purchase this exciting new collection – plus we also be selling Alex Monroe ‘Classics’ too.
There will be some lovely fizz to sip as you shop supplied by the amazing Planet of the Grapes, and everyone will receive a goodie bag upon purchase, containing treats from Penhaligon’s, Frü Puds and Burts Chips – plus a 20% off voucher for your next alexmonroe.com order!

For anyone who can’t make it on Tuesday, don’t worry as we will be at Little 15 for the second ‘Peacock & the Crow’ event, on Thursday the 10th of June. Little 15 can be found at 15 Cullum Street, EC3M 7JJ.
The Alex Monroe gang will be calling in at this event too, which kicks off with drinks at Midday and runs until 8pm. Little 15 are offering 20% off to their Select Card holders, check their website for details.

Little 15
We were really pleased when Silverado told us about their new shop in Lewes – they’ve been trying to buy a property there for ages, but it looks well worth the wait!

Look at the lovely collection of hand mirrors on the wall!
So…..Susie will be heading down on Saturday the 12th of June for a Trunk Show! As usual there will be lots of one-offs, plus a raffle prize, and yes, they will have a delivery of ‘Peacock and the Crow’ too!
On Saturday the 10th of July we will be back down in Sussex to visit Silverado’s Brighton store with a Trunk Show – lots of dates for your diaries!
So there is a LOT of jewellery being made at the moment, lots of parcels to pack, emails to answer…..I need a lie down just thinking about it!
But it’s all going to be lots of fun so come and say hello!

We’ve all been so busy recently there hasn’t been much time to update you on where you can get you hands on the jewellery, so here we go!
Excitingly, Alex Monroe pieces are going to be much more readily available around the UK thanks to John Lewis….we have launched with everyone’s favourite department store in four locations, which means that our jewellery is now available in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Cheadle and Bluewater.
John Lewis are updating their image, and it looks like they’re really going to town….check out the Bluewater jewellery department below:

John Lewis, Bluewater.
Of course, we still love selling to cute little boutiques too, fans in the West Country should head to Qetty Bang Bang, who recently opened in Tetbury – I can’t wait to visit when I’m back visiting my Mum & Dad!
Another new stockist is The Hambledon Gallery in Blandford, Dorset. We already sell to The Hambledon in Winchester, but the Gallery is the ‘Mother’ shop – both look like they have a gorgeous range of products – and I’m not just talking about Alex Monroe!!
But just to update you, other deliveries we’ve made in the last few weeks are, in London: Charles Fish, EcOne, Matches and Mitsukoshi.
And around the UK: Jason Charles, Pearl & Queenie and Ruby & Tallulah.
Overseas, we’ve covered quite a few continents: Masscob in Spain….Cord Three, Lisette and Tomorrowland in Japan….Herta and Kit of Elsinore in Sweden….Syrup, Quincy and mico-mico.com in Australia….and, last but not least Creme in Bahrain.
For customers in desperate need of a Bumblebee, head to Fenwick or Fortnum & Mason in London, Silverado in Brighton and Chapmans in Durham. Better be quick though, we’ve only sent them in the last couple of days and they never last long!!
For further details on any of the shops mentioned, just check our ‘Stockists’ page.
Bye for now, Emma x

Just like this year’s weather (and let’s face it, every year’s weather!) summertime at Alex Monroe is unpredictable…..
We’ve been madly busy in what is usually a quiet time of year – but we can’t complain!
Loads of deliveries have gone out, but I haven’t had chance to post an update….we have lots of new stockists all over the world….In Australia we’ve just delivered to Turner & Lane and Ruiz & Mackell Wong, and of course, we’ve sent lots of lovely pieces to HP France in Japan……Check our stockists page, as it should now be fully updated!
In the last week or so we’ve sent stock to Enibas in Cork, Bowns in Cambridge, Amelie in Berkhamsted, Fenwick in Newcastle and Silverado in Brighton. And new stockist Mrs Jones in Holt.
Not forgetting Liberty, Sefton and Fortnum & Mason in London.

Palm House Lockets, opening to reveal an Orchid.
You can also now check out Alex’s gorgeous Palm House Lockets at Kew Gardens, which he designed exclusively for them…..
More exciting news is that we keep spotting Sienna Miller wearing Alex Monroe!! She’s on a worldwide tour promoting GI Joe and here she is in New York wearing our Bumblebee and Clover Necklaces, plus I think I spy a couple of Rings too!

Sienna in Alex Monroe!
Finally, I wanted to tell you about another great blog…..Bargainista Fashionista
It’s by the lovely Susie who works at Elle Magazine, and she writes about all of her fabulous fashion bargains – I’m very jealous of some, infact most of them! Check it out……there’s lots of great pics too.
Think that’s it for now…..don’t forget to let us know your news too!
