Actually it's Thursday morning here. The sun is beating down and I'm off out in a few mins. Just thought I'd catch up with yesterday's activities.....

Up at 4AM, par for the course apparently, went for a swim at 8, brekkie then Off with Nina to our meeting at Husk. They were fantaberooney! I met Jackie Naylor, the owner, and Nadine King (sorry if I spelt any names wrong!). I'm so excited! The shops are just perfect, boutiquey, independent, eclectic and super stylish. We had tea outside. They are so professional and have great plans I think we're going to work really well together. This is what these trips are all about; meeting fab people, understanding how it all works and planning and exciting future. Good on Husk. They're great.

Then on to Healesville Sanctuary for a little R&R. It was hot, we were starving, but a burger later I was peering at the cutest of cute platypus's swimming about in a pool. And Koala's. And Kanga's. And Wombats. And, well everything you'd ever want to see in Australia. It was brilliant! Look at this little fella...

We were out in the Yarra Valley, and Mac, being a wine maker, works out there. So we popped in to see him and the boys hard at work (!). Mac is brilliant. He's one of a new generation of wine makers. I can't pretend to understand it all because the creative process is sooo complicated but Mac seems to want to work with his raw materials to bring the best out of them. He inspects and tastes the grapes and the juice and goes with that. Rather than trying to shoehorn the grapes into a predetermined flavour. Anyway, the results are amazing. I'll be buying some for sure. Anyone with any interest in nice stuff should check him out www.macforbes.com

Tasted wine, tasted more wine, drank and chatted. This is the life all right. Then in to Healesville for a drink in the pub (lovely pub too, nice beer too). We took the high road. Take a look at this...

I like Healesville.

So back into the city and a stop off in the Vietnamese quarter for a scrumptious meal. Taxi, Bed. A call from the UK at 5AM. Ah well.....
