Delicate cow parsley flowers are recreated in silver, with finely cast elements capturing the plant’s natural intricacy. To form the distinctive ‘umbel’ shape, each tiny flower is carefully positioned and held in place with sticky tape — a simple but effective tool — before being precisely laser-joined.

The arrangement is then gently domed by hand using a jeweller's sandbag and bossing mallet - a rounded wooden hammer used to gently shape metal without leaving marks - giving the piece a soft, organic curve. Finished with a long, sculptural ear hook, the result is a striking earring that turns botanical detail into elegant, wearable design.

The starting point for the collection came when Alex embarked on a project researching and visiting endangered natural habitats in the UK throughout the Spring of 2024. After a number of trips to his chosen locations, Alex studied the plants, flowers and leaves unique to each habitat in great detail, through quick sketches and detailed drawings.

Ancient orchards are traditional, often centuries-old landscapes that are home to a rich variety of wildlife and heritage fruit trees, such as apples, pears, and plums. These orchards were once common across the UK, but they have become increasingly rare and are now considered one of the UK's most endangered habitats.
