37 Snowsfields in London Bridge is the address of our original Alex Monroe Boutique - which first opened its doors to our customers on the 3rd of December 2011! Since Alex first began his craft over 30 years ago, it was his dream to design and build a design space, jewellery workshop and boutique in the heart of Bermondsey - London's historical centre of craft and industry. This was excitingly realised in the building of 37 Snowsfields, created in collaboration with internationally acclaimed architects DSDHA!

The bee represents a whole array of thoughts and emotions for me; Feminine strength, beauty, vulnerability, the Renaissance idea of the inevitable pain of love, community. There is a nostalgic Britishness to the bee, Beatrix Potter and the cottage country garden. And then of course there is the environmental role of bees, pollinating the world’s food while under constant threat from pollution. There is so much symbolism in my bee… I can see most of what I was after, and I hope people who buy or wear one might see just a little bit of my inspiration in their bee, and of course, they will have their own ideas about what their bee means to them too!
Discover The BeehiveAlex's signature Bumblebee necklace is a nostalgic nod to the bees of his childhood...fat, fuzzy and in abundance in the Suffolk Countryside each summer.

We were unbeelievably excited to spot Holly Willoughby wearing an Alex Monroe Bumblebee Necklace in the I’m a Celebrity Jungle. The perfect sparkly expression of Jungle style!
Follow our Journey
Alex and his design team create all original designs by hand in sterling silver. An unusual approach to jewellery making which allows them to achieve our signature detail. When our jewellery goes into production, it is hand-finished by our team of skilled craftspeople in our London workshops, and Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. We're extremely proud that each and every Alex Monroe treasure is and will forever be handmade in England.
