Featuring 9ct solid gold details, this locket features ornate hand-engraving mirroring the design of a vintage matchbox, with a little bee and the poignant words ‘In Darkness there is Light’. Brought to life from a drawing by 13 year old Roman. Back in April at the height of the COVID-19 crisis, we launched our first ever design competition ‘Designs for Hope’ - a creative distraction for our community, who we tasked with presenting us with an idea for a piece of Alex Monroe jewellery, drawing on what ‘hope’ means to them. Alex and our design team have since been back at work in our London workshop, and have brought the unique and poignant winning drawings to life in our Designs for Hope collection, with proceeds donated to mental health charity Mind.

Alex and his design team create all original designs by hand in sterling silver. An unusual approach to jewellery making which allows them to achieve our signature detail. When our jewellery goes into production, it is hand-finished by our team of skilled craftspeople in our London workshops, and Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. We're extremely proud that each and every Alex Monroe treasure is and will forever be handmade in England.Discover here
