Alex Monroe X Raven Smith
The Collection
In a curious new collaboration, Alex Monroe fuses 30 years of jewellery design & craftsmanship with the wit and style of writer and cultural observer Raven Smith. The result is a fresh, clean and somewhat sensory collection, where a surface simplicity playfully comes undone to reveal layers of hidden elaboration and unexpected detail.

Gemstones studded within the bands of rings remain secret only to the wearer, and afterwards leave behind a tell-tale shadow on the finger. Smooth cannonball orbs can be worn closed or hinged open to reveal a juicy green tourmaline glowing from within, while a clean chain necklace is punctuated with a single freshwater pearl.

The Cannonball
Shiny cannonball orbs can be worn closed or opened to reveal rich and juicy cabochon-cut green tourmalines or luminous freshwater pearls glowing within. Inspired by antique coach-covers where precious gemstones were hidden for the journey and revealed for the party, this is a highly engineered and versatile design created by our incredible team, which seamlessly clicks to close. Our cannonball orbs feature as pendant necklaces and single drop earrings in this collection.

From Raven

I loved creating the pieces from
scratch, it’s always a challenge
when you have carte blanche and
the world’s your oyster. I wanted
classic, timeless everyday pieces
with enough flair (sometimes secret)
to feel notable. I love that each piece
has a little mystery to be discovered.

From Alex

We referenced the tradition of
antique coach jewellery, where the
jewellery could be covered for the
journey then revealed for the party!
So we had a lot of fun with it.
