Wedding Ring Styles
There’s more than one way to say “I do.” Whether you love the simplicity of a classic band, the subtle sparkle of a stone-set design, the gentle curve to fit around an engagement ring, or the bold presence of a wide style, our rings are designed to suit every love story — and every hand.
Rich, warm, and forever classic — 18ct yellow gold brings a timeless elegance to any wedding ring. From hammered finishes to twig textures and delicate vines, each ring is handcrafted to celebrate nature, individuality, and enduring love.
With the same nature-inspired textures and handcrafted details as our yellow gold designs, 18ct white gold offers a cooler, more contemporary feel. From softly hammered finishes to intricate vines, feathers, and our signature bee texture, each ring is made with care in our London workshops — a meaningful piece to treasure, in a tone that suits your style.
Every wedding ring we make is handcrafted in our London workshops by skilled jewellers. With care, precision, and a commitment to sustainable practices, each ring is made to honour your love story — and to last a lifetime. From classic bands to textured, nature-inspired designs, our rings reflect the same values as your vows: honesty, care, and enduring beauty.
Our wedding rings are crafted from 18ct solid gold — in your choice of yellow, white, or rose — as well as platinum, known for its strength and natural lustre. Each metal offers a distinct character and feel, allowing you to choose the tone that suits your style and story. Durable, beautiful, and timeless, these are materials made to stand the test of time — just like the commitment they represent.
We believe your wedding ring should reflect not only your love, but your values too. From our use of recycled and Fairmined gold to carefully chosen, low-impact materials, sustainability is at the heart of our jewellery-making process. Every ring is crafted with care for both people and planet — made to last a lifetime, without costing the Earth.

Frequently Asked Questions
There’s a lot to think about when choosing wedding rings — here are some of the questions we’re asked most often.
Where can I try on Alex Monroe wedding rings in person?
You can explore and try on our full range of wedding rings at any of our London Boutiques. Our team will guide you through the collection, help with sizing, and offer styling advice to find the perfect match.
If you can’t visit us in person, we also offer relaxed, no-obligation online consultations — where we can show you different styles and combinations virtually. Book here, or simply get in touch with our Customer Care team here.
Do you offer men’s wedding bands?
Yes — we offer a range of timeless styles for any wearer, with an emphasis on character, texture, and craftsmanship over traditional categories. Our full collection is available online and in our London Boutiques, where you can explore every option in person and try on different styles to find the perfect fit. If you’re looking for something truly one-of-a-kind, we also offer bespoke design services — learn more here.
How do I choose the right wedding ring size?
Finding the right fit is important — your wedding ring should feel comfortable every day. You can request one of our reusable ring sizers, free of charge, to check your size at home. Simply get in touch and we’ll post one out to you. Alternatively, you can visit one of our London Boutiques or consult a local jeweller for an in-person fitting.
My ring size isn’t listed — can I still order a wedding ring?
In many cases, yes. Since all of our pieces are handcrafted in our London workshop, we can often accommodate ring sizes outside our standard range — including half sizes. To check what’s possible, just get in touch with our Customer Care team with the style and size you’re looking for, and we’ll confirm with our jewellers. Please note that rings made in custom sizes are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. We offer a complimentary resize within 6 months of purchase on all of our wedding rings. After that, we’re happy to resize your ring for a small fee to cover the time and craftsmanship involved.
Can I order a wedding ring size that’s out of stock online?
If your size isn’t currently in stock, don’t worry — most of our wedding rings are available to order as a Made to Order piece. You can place your order online and we’ll make your ring especially for you. Alternatively, if you have a shorter timeframe to receive your ring, feel free to get in touch — our Customer Care team can check availability across our boutiques to see if we have your size ready to go.
How long does it take to make a made-to-order wedding ring?
Each special order is handmade by our talented workshop team here in London. Please allow up to 10 weeks from the date of purchase for your ring to be completed, though this can vary depending on the design. If you have a specific deadline in mind, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’ll always do our best to help where we can.
What’s the colour difference between 18ct White Gold and Platinum?
Both metals have a silvery appearance, but they differ in tone and character. 18ct White Gold has a softer, slightly warmer colour, while Platinum has a cooler, brighter tone with a subtle grey sheen. Unlike many jewellers, we don’t rhodium plate our 18ct White Gold — instead, we embrace its natural colour, which pairs beautifully with our organic designs. Platinum is also denser and more hard-wearing, with a sleek, modern finish that develops a soft patina over time.
Is Alex Monroe 18ct White Gold rhodium plated?
No — we never rhodium plate our 18ct solid gold pieces. 18ct White Gold is made from 75% pure gold (which is naturally yellow) combined with alloy metals like palladium and silver to give it a silvery-white colour. While many jewellers add a rhodium coating for a bright, chrome-like finish, we choose to honour the natural tone of the metal. This means our 18ct White Gold may appear slightly darker or softer than plated versions — a finish we believe better complements the character of our designs.
How can I find a wedding band to match my Alex Monroe engagement ring?
Many of our engagement rings are designed as part of a collection with a perfectly matched wedding band — like our Beekeeper or Wild Rose styles. But we also love seeing our customers mix and match to create their own unique pairings. The best way to explore your options is to visit us in one of our London Boutiques, where you can try on different styles and find the perfect fit. Can’t make it in person? We also offer relaxed and informal online consultations, where we can show you how different bands pair with your engagement ring — no pressure, just helpful advice.
Can I engrave my Alex Monroe wedding band?
Yes — many of our wedding band styles can be personalised with an engraving, depending on the design and finish of the ring. If you’re interested in adding something meaningful, our Customer Care team will be happy to advise on what’s possible and guide you through the process. Simply get in touch here to get started.
Do you offer a wedding ring resizing service, and what does it cost?
Yes — we offer a resizing service for our rings. To give you peace of mind, all of our 18ct Gold Fine Jewellery rings include one complimentary resize within six months of purchase. After that, we’re happy to resize your ring for a small fee to cover the time and craftsmanship involved. Just get in touch and we’ll guide you through the next steps.
Will my wedding ring become thinner if it’s resized to be larger?
No — when we resize a ring to make it larger, we don’t stretch the metal. Instead, we carefully cut the band and insert a new section of matching metal. The ring is then expertly soldered, cleaned, and re-finished to ensure a seamless result. You may notice a slight change in appearance due to the polishing and finishing process, but the integrity and thickness of your ring will remain intact.
Should the wedding ring or engagement ring go on first after marriage?
Traditionally, the wedding band is worn closest to the heart, with the engagement ring sitting above it. This also makes it easier to remove your engagement ring for cleaning or specific tasks, while keeping your wedding band in place. That said, there’s no right or wrong — we encourage you to wear your rings in whatever way feels most comfortable and meaningful to you.
Which hand do you wear a wedding ring on?
In the UK, it’s traditional to wear your wedding band on the fourth finger of your left hand — a custom that dates back to Tudor times, when it was believed that a vein ran directly from this finger to the heart. However, wedding ring traditions vary across the world, and there’s no strict rule — it’s all about what feels right for you.
How do I clean my wedding ring at home?
To keep your wedding band looking its best, we recommend gently cleaning it with warm, soapy water and a soft toothbrush to remove any build-up. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth, then finish with a polish using a specialist cleaning cloth, like the one we offer here.
