The Collection
'Alice in Wonderland’ is a limited edition jewellery collection by Alex Monroe, created in collaboration with the V&A Museum in celebration of their ‘Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser’ Exhibition for 2021. Featuring quintessential references, from a slightly frantic white rabbit keeping track of time, to an ornate lock and key, we can’t wait to open the door to this magical world! Each design represents whimsical, English Eccentricity at its finest – perfectly reflecting Alice’s adventures in Wonderland.
With an enduring appeal for both adults and children alike, Lewis Carroll’s celebrated Alice books have fuelled creative minds for over 150 years. Taking us on a journey from art, literature, theatre and film, through science and technology to fashion and politics, this vibrant and imaginative exhibition by the V&A encourages us to ask whether we should all try to be more like Alice.

It has been such a privilege to design these pieces inspired by Alice in Wonderland for the V&A museum’s ‘Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser’ 2021 Exhibition.
I have always considered the V&A to be my second home in London. It was originally set up as a resource to boost the creativity and productivity of industry and it has certainly achieved that for me. The museum has always been such an inspiration, and so has fantastical British literature such as ‘Alice in Wonderland’. We tried to express that sense of quirky, fun and mystical adventure which Lewis Carol captured so well in his writing, and I’m really pleased with the results. The V&A has long been my sketchbook heaven and this was one of the most fun collaborations I’ve had the pleasure to work on. Enjoy the adventure!
